Caution before taking up Home Remedies

Caution-Feature-Image

What kills a man or woman (just in case a feminist is reading this)? Not the thousand battles but the fear of thousand battles, not the snakebite but the fear of snakes (well not in all cases but you get the idea though! right?), not the disease but the fear induced by the disease.

Due to this very fear, we go run to see a doctor. Doctors take advantage of this fear. They know our body treats the simple headaches, fever, temperature, cold and aches in a day or two by itself but they still load us with a truckload of pharmaceutical drugs.

In fact, our body treats and cures all the diseases by itself, medicines just aids it. Some diseases require simple medications. Some demand a careful course of herbs and medications for a long time.

Caution Strip

So we need to take some cautious measures while taking up Home Remedies based mostly on Ayurveda

1. Buy barks of trees, herbs, spices, etc. from a certified or a good shop. If you can differentiate between different plants/trees/herbs, then you yourself can easily obtain from the garden or forest or wherever it may be. Still, for some rare herbs, we have to approach to the shops.

After buying, if you are not sure, it is always important to verify the herb with a good Ayurvedic practitioner or someone who has knowledge about it. Bad quality herbs or wrong herbs can do more harm than good.

And

Yes, we have to do it, it is our responsibility to stay fit and healthy not of our dear ones or doctors. It would be easy if we take full responsibility for our health.

2. The water used with medicines/herbs to make mixtures or combinations must be pure. Always boil the water before using it. Similarly, the container must be clean to keep the spices, herbs, and medicines. Glass containers are the best and preferred.

3. Fresh and Green herbs must be used in time unless intend to use dry. The medicinal and nutritional value descends after drying up. Always wash and rinse the herbs in water before using.

4. It is necessary to consult an Ayurvedic practitioner with the use of home remedies and herbs used in it. However, all the remedies are tried and tested with the criterion of time. We can use all the remedies with the right discretion. The Blog will not be responsible for any irresponsible/foolish behavior while using the remedies.

5. We can never be truly happy and sound if we are on medication for a long time. Always try to stay healthy. Again, it can be done if take full responsibility for our health.

Try to avoid the medicines as long as you can. You can wait for a day or two if you feel ill, if it does not go away then it’s time to take medicine. The best medication/medicine is that which can cure one disease without aggravating a new or another disease i.e. without side effects.

6. While using home remedies or on any kind of medication, we must follow the rules of nature (i.e. dietary, behavioral, lifestyle, good habits, etc.) to get the maximum benefits.

Lastly, the home remedies (the herbs, food, and spices used in home remedies) have no side effects on the body whatsoever.
